Earlsferry Thistle Golf Club Player Reports
James McCann (Scotland) 09/06/02
Played the Earlsferry Thistle Open on Sat.8 June
2002. There was a haar hanging around from the
nearby shoreline which lifted for a while
before returning near the end of the round,
reducing visibility considerably. The course
was a joy to play, with some really testing
holes where the greens slope away to the back
making it very difficult to hit and hold on
them. A very good test of golf, with penal
rough off the fairways catching errant shots.
The best aspect of the day out, however, was
the friendliness of the local members in the
clubhouse after where a few beers were had
whilst discusing the finer points of the days
play. The Ship Inn at the harbour rounded the
day off nicely with some excellent seafood for
the two of us before heading for Dunfermline
for their Open next day. Two rounds of top
class links and parkland golf for 18 quid -
the offers in the 'Wee Yellow Book' are not
to be missed!

Elie golfcourse\r\nMy favourite golfcourse in Scotland.\r\nQuit easy in good weather and a monster in rain and wind.\r\nThe little town, the kindly people and the nice athmosphere\r\nhave done me to a scotsmen.
I will always come back to Elie.\r\n
