Not a bad course but the greens have been ruined by disease or bad greenkeeping. The 16th is some hole though!.

we ar a party of 6 people who visit the algarve each year.
here is a selection of our comments
poor teeing areas
lack of sand in bunkers
unable to pre book carts and not enough on the day
no on course catering
no course marshalling _ 6 hours far too long
up and down nature of the course made shouts of four! inevitable and dangerous
distance markers inaccurate
in summary a very poor municipal course - donīt waste your money here.

Played this course for the first in February 2005, was slighly wet due to the winter but never-the-less a fantastic course and more importantly has the longest par 5 in Europe..............I did it in 8 (3 putted) but from a 17 handicap I was over the moon.
Loads of history as the great man "Cotton" designed this.

Played course for the first time on 28/03/06 & thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The fairways were in excellent condition & whilst the greens were on the slow side they were true.

Had a weeks golf with friends in early February 2006. Course getting back to good condition after 2005 drought. Organisation, facilities, staff, clubhouse all superb - highly recommended.
Will be back

This course is nicely laid out with some beautiful views, but there's no real point in playing it at the moment. From tee to green the conditions underfoot are too poor to allow for a proper game. The greens are some of the worst I've ever come across. Swathes of the fairways are completely bare, and there's GUR on nearly every hole. Whilst the green fees have been reduced (E35)it's still not really worth it. Lets hope that things improve dramatically soon. I, for one, wouldn't contemplate going back unless I knew for sure that a great deal of work had been done.
