Badgemore Park Golf Club Player Reports

First impressions of Badgemore was very good. Pro shop staff were friendly and clubhouse looked nice for an after round drink. On the course the rough was really long, and I mean really long. You could be 10 yards of the green and your ball could be 5-6 inches deep in rough. I can see what they were trying to do by making a relatively open course tighter but it can be very frustrating when you hit a pretty good shot and end up losing a ball due to the thickness of the rough. This is a course where you need ball spotters on most holes.
Having got over the length of the rough I really enjoyed my round, the back nine is by far the most interesting with the front nine being a little bit 'back to back up and down' style holes. The back nine uses more of the natural contours of the land and there are some pretty impressive holes. If you like left to right dog legs then this is your course. I think there were 4 or 5 on the back nine! The greens were very good, true and fast and the general up keep was great. Would recommend this course to all who are looking for a round of golf near Henley, especially if you want to play at the weekend.
PS Beware of the car-park at the back of the 18th its a bit too close to the green for my liking.

First time playing at this club lovely surroundings but found some of the tee offs a bit dounting as there were no directional markers. The course it self was in an immaculate condition, cant say much about the staff as i only met the guy in the pro shop taking the money. One thing that people should know about the course is that if you have to play in front of a competion dont take to long trying to put your ball in the hole as they complain saying it slows up play I was under the impression that while on the green it made the difference between losing or winning the hole.
