Played the Rothschild course just 1 day after having torrential rain which meant most the bunkers were flooded which was a shame, albeit still in fantastic condition.
I felt that both the fairways & fast greens were in excellent condition for the time of year I cant wait for the summer to come just to see and play the course in it's prime.
Very interesting course what with the water Hazards, bunkers and thick rough but it still didn't stop my mate getting his first 182 yard birdie the jammy tramp (not heard the last of it either).
An expensive course at £45 per round but worth every penny. I would advise on using the 2 fore 1 vouchers during the week to lower costs.
The staff at Mentmore I found to be very polite and helpful just a bit on the snobby side for my liking, you need a pink V neck jumper to fit in properly or at least have a deluxe powerkaddy golf bag like mine with the 13 pocket dividers try to make it nice and heavy like I did just to be told that you are not allowed trolleys during the winter (had aching shoulders since).
By the way if you find a Slazenger bald eagle golf ball on either the 4th or the 13th they are mine and I would like them back please as they were a birthday present. Oh yeah and my mate lost his Calloway to.
Don't turn up in Reebok classics otherwise you are only aloud in the pulse bar for breakfast which was no hardship as it was really nice and they do Costa coffee.
Treat yourself and play this course you will not be dissapointed !!!!!

Our Society played the Rosebery course on 19th April and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. An undulating course with a number of blind shots as in links golf but in very good condition. Several short holes are particularly challenging at first sight and one could probably do better second time around. The Society deal is very good value and the food was very much enjoyed.

I played the Rosebery course today and found it to be in excellent condition for the time of year, especially the greens which were fast and true.
I have also played the Rothschild in the past and it too is in good condition. My only criticism of the courses is that there are too many short par 4's (typically around 350 yards) which generally only leave a wedge or 9 iron for the second shot. Otherwise, a great value course, especially with 2 for 1 vouchers.
The clubhouse is very modern and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Overall, good value golf!

Played the Rothschild course with my son and 2 of his mates using 2 fore 1 vouchers.Course was in excellent condition for the time of year,October, greens were spiked but in lovely condition, the putts still ran true. Will certainly be returning to play the Roseberry course next year.If the boys have their way they will play both courses !
Food was okay but not cheap,£4 for a beef baguette, next time will try out a local pub on the way home.Clubhouse was nice but lacked character.
All in all good value for money golf to be recommended.

I played this course today (16/09/04) and i must say i spent most the day with my mouth open, simply stunning!
There is so much variation in the course we played, that being the Roseberry, a series of elevated tees, blind tee shots, undulating very quick greens, dangerous and protective bunkers and horrific rough!
Some of the holes are slightly exposed/open, so in windy conditions it will be a damn pain, but testing!
Club house is very impressive and well maintained, as a member of the clubhaus group it does take the 2 fore 1 vouchers and at £35 a throw without the vouchers, this is money very well spent!
My advice is go and play it, and prove me wrong!!

Played the Rothschild Course at a Corporate Day in September. Clubhouse is well equipped and presented. The course was a challenge, but fair and comfortable to play, as long as you stay on the fairways.
Pleasant scenery, especially the back 9 played largely around the old Rothschild residence. Greens were in great shape for the time of the year and pretty quick.
Advice? Stay straight off the tee, be bold into the greens and gentle on them. The 10th is not the place for a driver (try a 5 iron off the tee and a 3 iron to the green, really!), and on the par 3 18th, take one more club than it possibly looks like.
Good day and well recommended.
