Played here over the warmest day of the year so far (May 2008). The course was ok and quite forgiving in places. If I am slighty critial, the fairways could moved a bit shorter. But back to the course. You have to be fairly straight but not always. The 5th is a 600 yard par 5, with danger left and right and all the way to the green. A very difficult hole, but to make it more difficult they have left a tree in the middle of the fairway, I think it doesn't need to be there. I enjoyed the par 3 short 15th, all downhill and very pretty. But the 16th and 17th hole bears no relation the the rest of the cousre, but very short par 4's very tricky. Not sure if I will be racing back to play it but certainly worth a try.

I am a member at chichester golf club and it is a very good and welcoming place. the cathedral course it is fairly challenging and is well laid out there is lots of nice holes but there is lots of nasty holes such as the 600 yard par 5 fith witch has water left and right and is sandwhiched between two challenging par 3's

I had high hopes for this centre when we arrived - just moved back to the area and was looking forward to playing where I had heard lots of changes have been made. Unfortunatly not in the service department, shop staff were non interested, talked to someone in the office the entire time they took my money and we had to call them and tap on the desk tp get their attention in the first place!
Course was in OK condition, round took an amazing 5 1/4 hours and had a noticeable number of people jumping on and off it at various places.
I did mention it to the shop but the young shop lad just said there was nothing that could be done to prevent it and carried on watching the soccer on TV.
Food however was excellent in the clubhouse and thats its only redeeming feature.
Driving range also good with auto tee system but 3 were out of order when I visited.
A shame and I hope their other course in Worthing is better.

I had the pleasure of a day's golf at Chichester with a society recently and found the course in brilliant condition.
The tower is well presented and gave us an ideal warm up round for the afternoon. It is not as easy as it seems. The 3rd hole is a really nice par 3.
After a pleasant lunch we had to play the Cathedral by that time I was grateful of the buggy we had and lost too many balls in the many pounds. The par 3 15th is superb and a birdie there help what was a tough round. A good challenge and a very enjoyable day. I will be back
Well done.

Chichester Golf Club in my oppinion offers an excellent choice for every golfer. The pay and play Tower course, as mentioned in previous reviews is indeed quite flat and open but it is ideal for higher handicappers or those that would require a warm up before a game in the afternoon on the more challanging Cathedral course. The Tower is in main very forgiving and bar this year due to the lack of rain, normally in very good condition for a pay and play. Watch out for the 17th and get the lake balls out of your bag.
The Catherdral course (members course) is most definately a challange. Again flat but full of danger. Even on the first, the question is asked on your approach shot. If your short it's wet. The 5th known to locals as 'The Mother' is an enormous par 5 that thankfully over the last 2 years has been widened but still water is all the way to the green left with OB right and a lake short of the green. A bogey is quite satisfactory on this one. Trust me ! All in all, a nice test of golf thats easy on the legs and well worth a visit.

I have been a junior member at this club since June 2002 and I have found the driving range and practice hole a good helping hand in starting golf.I think the pro v1 studio is very clever and has helped me lower my handicap(very hard to do!).When I first started playing on the tower course it was fun and easy to get to grips with golf but after a while it became a bit boring because it is very open like a field.I prefer to play on the Cathedral course now as it is much more chalenging. It has a good junior section and there is competitions for every one but I have yet to play in one!
