Played in glorious weather but a bit breezy. Classic links course with fast running fairways and excellent greens. A few blind shots so a course planner is helpful. Pro very helpful, clubhouse a bit tired and food service OK. Would play again next week if I had the chance!

Played here recently and would recommend to anyone if in the area. The views are spectacular and the course was in great nick. Dog leg par 4 to get you started followed by a tricky par 3 and then it gets serious. I found myself needing to take driver from most tees and the rough can be punishing so take plenty of balls. It's quite a long course and the four par %s all take plenty of reaching. The last hole is the only driveable par 4 and I managed to finish with birdie so that sent me home happy.

May 2006: Fine traditional links with views over wild sandhills and Cheviot Hills. Superb condition especially the greens. Helps to hit the ball both ways and to enjoy playing off elevated tees into strong winds. Around 4 newer greens still to finally bed in. Nitpickers will not like the road in front of the 17th green ( par 5 )which can hinder the 3rd shot ( try a putter ). 12th/ 15th / 18th holes are the only weak holes. Rated 9 for difficulty. 10 for value; 6 for general facilities.
Sensible club which gives the course priority with top-quality practise facilities and professional / assistant all at reasonable prices.

Great Course!! Played on sunday 04 Jan 04. Had great weather not a drop of wind (which helped). Greens and fairways in good condition for the time of year. Clubhouse a bit old looking but comfortable. Well stocked pro shop. Will definately visit again in the next couple of months.

A superb course, played in september. Greens first class, a real link test. Practise facilities excellent and so is the Pro.
Harry Putter (England) 06/07/03
This course is simply a masterpiece. By far and away the best course in Northumberland. A beautiful undulating links with ribbon-like fairways, gruesome bunkers, high rough, burns and great sea views. It reminded me a little of Royal Porthcawl. To top it all it's in incredibly good nick for a links course. No outstanding holes to point out, they're all crackers. It's long and tough, a serious challenge if the wind blows. Top class links at a very fair price. 8.5/10
